Lds Fluid - posted in C5 - Technical: Hi Guys.2001 C5 2.2 hdi sx Just checked the LDS fluid level today (car sitting on lowest level) and it was low,I could see that fluid was still present in the reservoir,about half way up the tank.I haven't topped it up yet,but got the fluid at an Indy garage for £10 litre.I was wondering is there anything I should do once I have topped up the fluid to.

Fri 18 Aug 2006 18:08C5 hydraulic leak steering/suspension. TimaruHi - The power steering on my 2.2 estate (2003) has been noisy and there have been traces of hydraulic fluid on the garage floor.My local (very good) independent garage have just had a look at it and traced the leak to the back of the engine bay but can't get to it without dropping the sub frame to make the repair.My question is - can this leak be suspension related as the manager says as I thought the steering and the suspension on the C5 were separate systems.Can anybody shed any light on this and should I take it to a Citroen dealer?Thanks in advance, Jon. neilSteering and suspension (and brakes) are all separate systems on C5, unlike earlier Cits. (Something to do with the US market - the Xantia and BX weren't type approved for US import because they had combined suspension and brakes systems).Bearing in mind it has a 3 year warranty, at least (and possibly 5 on the hydro-bits, if memory serves?) I'd be off to my Cit dealer. (Possibly the only circumstances under which I'd ever utter those words!)Cheers - hope that helpsNeil.
